I'm such a jinx

Two years in a row...I place a Super Bowl winning bet for the NY Jets before the season. Then I holster it for a while. The Jets start out well, 8-3 last year, 3-0 this year, until I get all excited and remember the bet ticket. I pull out the ticket, and then what happens? The Jets lose lose lose. 8-3 -> 9-7 after I looked. 3-0 -> 3-3 after I looked. Ugh! What a prime example of some skewed version of overconfidence.

McDonalds Monopoly again

Why do I do it?

Monopoly at McDonalds is back and this year, it's even worse than before. No more outside sponsorship. Long gone are the Best Buy bucks. Yet, as of today, I've already had two McDonalds breakfasts and each time with an extra Hash Brown.

I think I've hit my McDonalds breakfast quota for the year. Besides, my stomach no longer can handle 1 Hash Brown let alone two. It's grumpy as I type.

Anyway, for those that still get sucked in, have at it. However, just know that the prizes aren't as plentiful and you'll want to do both the physical and online version.
